What I’m up to these days…

• Co-founder of the Philadelphia Japan Arts Matsuri, a celebration of Japanese culture with all proceeds benefiting the Japanese Red Cross Society’s relief efforts.  Our Launch Event was held on May 13 at the Prince Music Theater while the full-on festival will be held July 7-10 throughout the city of Philadelphia.  I built and maintain the website:  phillyjam.org.

• Member of the Film Committee and the Screening Committee for the Philadelphia Jewish Film Festival where I also volunteer once a week at their offices in the Gershman Y.

• Currently programming my now biannual Unknown Japan film series in conjunction with the Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia.  It will be held this coming August – September at a different venue every week for six weeks.

• Since I launched it back in January, Cinedelphia.com has evolved from a means to see movies for free into a legitimate website for opinionated film reviews and biased community commentary.  It takes up the majority of my time and I’m honestly quite proud of it.  The number of films I’ve watched in the past five months is admittedly ridiculous.

Despite all of these activities I continue to struggle to maintain a desired level of productivity…maybe it’s time to get a day job.
